Press Conference Set for Wednesday, 5/30, at City Hall

Albany Common Council President Carolyn McLaughlin, Albany County Executive Dan McCoy and other local elected officials will publicly express their support of the Reproductive Health Act and urge state lawmakers to make the bill law this session. The group will be joined by reproductive health care advocates also urging passage of the Reproductive Health Act.

The Reproductive Health Act :

- Guarantees that a woman can make her own personal, private health care decisions, especially when her health is endangered;

- Treats the regulation of abortion as an issue of public health and medical practice rather than as a potential crime;

- Affirms New Yorkers' right to use (or refuse) contraception, regardless of what politicians in Congress decide.
