All procedures require two visits:

Due to changes in the Tennessee laws which began July 1, 2015, you are required to come at least 48 hours before your abortion to meet with a physician.

Fee Structure:

Call toll-free (866) 711-1717 for total fees. The first day cost is $275 and will be applied to your total. The balance will be due on your second day visit.

Financial Assistance:

We offer financial assistance to qualified patients. To see if you qualify, please ask the operator when scheduling appointment or discuss with a counselor at the health center. IF ELIGIBLE, you will receive a discount on your total payment.

Abortion Services using Insurance:

Planned Parenthood accepts most insurance. Contact your insurance to ensure that an elective termination is covered and whether or not it needs prior approval.

What do I need to bring with me?

You need to bring $275 to cover the cost of your first visit. You will pay the balance on your second visit.

Bring valid identification that includes your age. Take your medications as prescribed and bring them with you.

A parent or legal guardian must accompany a minor patient under 18 years of age.  Documentation proving parenthood and/or guardianship of the minor must be provided at the time of check-in.  Minors who do not have a parent or guardian available can apply for a judicial bypass.  Our health center can provide information on how to apply.

Please do not bring children with you to the health center.

What to expect:

On your first visit, you will get an ultrasound and education about the procedure. We will also collect medical history, labs, and your consent for a procedure.  Plan to be in the health center about 2-3 hours on this visit.

If lab work indicates that you are Rh negative, a Rhogam shot will be required on your second visit at no additional cost.

On your second visit for the in-clinic procedure, you will have the option to receive a medication to help you relax at no additional cost or you have the option for IV sedation at an additional cost of $100. If you choose to have this medication or sedation, you will need someone to drive you home. Please take your medications as scheduled. If you have diabetes, bring your medicines and glucometer. If you have asthma, bring your inhaler.  Please bathe or shower before coming and wear comfortable clothes. You may eat a light meal or snack before coming to your appointment. Plan to be in the health center about 2 hours for this visit.

On your 2nd visit for a medication abortion, you are given Mifeprex at the health center to block the action of the hormone progesterone. 6 to 48 hours after taking the Mifeprex pills, you will take 4 Misoprostol pills. This will cause vaginal bleeding.

Medication abortion patients will need a follow up visit within 1-2 weeks to make sure your abortion is complete and you are well. Your follow up exam is at no additional cost.

You may receive birth control on the same day you have an abortion (medication or in-clinic). We offer many effective options. Please inquire when making your appointment.
