Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region Hosts A Workshop about HIV and the Latino Community

On Thursday, March 5, 2009, Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region and the Community HIV Network are hosting an educational workshop about the medical and psychosocial needs of the Latino community in relation to HIV/AIDS.

The workshop is free and open to all healthcare workers, social workers and others who serve Latino populations.

The workshop will include information about legal and immigration barriers that delay HIV-positive Latinos from seeking care; pregnancy and post-partum care of HIV-positive Latinas; co-infections and STD’s; domestic violence and human trafficking; clinical trials; and cultural competency.
