Ensler’s Obie-award winning masterpiece gives voice to women’s deepest wishes and fears. It’s based on interviews with more than 200 women about their memories and experiences of sexuality. The Vagina Monologues is a candid, funny, sometimes painful and always insightful celebration of womanhood! A cast of talented locals will leave you laughing, crying and thinking long after the show is over.
This particular performance of the Vagina Monologues is unique in that includes a monologue written by Eve Ensler especially for transgender women that will be read by Darlene Fike, a gender counselor who is herself a transgender woman. This will be the first time the transgender monologue has ever been performed in Memphis.
All proceeds from the March 18th performance will go to Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region to support its health center, family planning and educational efforts. Please join us to support the important work we do to benefit women of the MidSouth!
