MEMPHIS, TN — Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region (PPGMR) is still providing family planning services at its health center at 2430 Poplar Avenue—including birth control, annual exams, Pap tests, and related health care—despite the loss of Title X funding.

The services that Mid-South women and teens have relied on for more than 35 years are all still available to everyone of reproductive age on a sliding fee scale based on income. Substantial discounts will be offered to those who qualify, including students.

“PPGMR is determined to make sure that patients with the least ability to pay will continue to get the health care they need to stay healthy and plan their families at little or no cost to them,” said Barry Chase, PPGMR President and CEO. “Planned Parenthood is the provider of choice for many women in the Mid-South. We want those women and teens to know that they can still come to PPGMR to get the care they have come to rely on.”

Not only is PPGMR affordable, its after-hours and Saturday appointments are also convenient for students and working parents.

“PPGMR will always be an important part of the health care safety net in the Mid-South,” Chase said. “It’s important for women and teens to know that there will be no disruption in the care that we provide. We’ve been here for almost 75 years. We will continue to be here for the women, teens and families who need access to medically accurate, non-judgmental education and health care.
