Planned Parenthood awards inaugural “Moving Beyond the Mission” award to longtime supporter

ST. LOUIS - Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri is proud to recognize Kathleen Quain with the inaugural “Moving Beyond the Mission” award. The award celebrates an exemplary member of Planned Parenthood’s Women’s Leadership Circle who leads with their philanthropy, service, professional success, and commitment to diversity. The WLC is a group of philanthropic supporters who openly support Planned Parenthood locally.

“Kathleen is so vitally important to helping patients realize they are in a safe, comforting environment, and that they’re going to get great care here at Planned Parenthood” said Dr. Colleen McNicholas, an obstetrician gynecologist and abortion provider who nominated Quain for the award.

Quain, currently serving as a patient advocate at Reproductive Health Services, has been volunteering for PPSLRSWMO for more than a decade. She demonstrates unwavering commitment to Planned Parenthood’s mission. She also gives her time to other community organizations who are devoted to providing, protecting, and supporting reproductive health, services, access and rights.

Quain received the award at the WLC Event on Feb. 28, 2019 at the Whittemore House at Washington University in St. Louis.

“The ‘Moving Beyond the Mission’ award is a great way for us to thank the Women’s Leadership Circle members for all they do for us,” said Cathy Williams, interim president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri. “Kathleen is a shining example of what Planned Parenthood supporters bring to the table. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor.”
