Get Involved On Campus
Are you a student in a St. Louis area college or university? Join our campus street team! We're always looking for people to help hang Planned Parenthood posters on campus.
- In Springfield, we have pro-Planned Parenthood groups on both the Missouri State University and Drury University campuses.
- Through VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood, college students across the country organize events on campus to raise public awareness about reproductive health and rights, educate young people at concerts about sexual health, mobilize advocates of reproductive rights, and work with and support their local Planned Parenthood health centers. If you're interested in starting a VOX chapter on your campus, contact Stacy at Stacy.firstname.lastname@example.org or 417.883.3800 x 809.
Intern with Planned Parenthood
Development interns assist with mailings, proofreading, and research, in addition to providing an extra set of hands as special projects arise. An internship with Development is a great way to see how fundraising works behind the scenes and learn, hands on, how to best communicate with donors. Our interns typically assist for 8-12 hours a week.
An internship with Planned Parenthood's public affairs department offers the opportunity to learn about advocacy, public policy, grassroots organizing, lobbying, volunteer recruitment and management, electoral work and more.
Internships are not just for students, internships are available to any supporter with extra time and the commitment to make a difference in the lives of the women, men and teens who use Planned Parenthood's services.
Join a Community Action Team
Members of our Community Action Team develop community campaigns for reproductive health, meet with legislators, and educate community members. Campaigns have included issues regarding access to emergency contraception (also known as Plan B or the morning after pill), sex education and access to family planning. Community Action Teams are supported by Planned Parenthood staff and meet on a monthly basis. Teams are currently active in Springfield.
Write a Letter to the Editor
We have a team of volunteers who respond to newspaper articles with letters to the editor. If you are interested in joining this team, get in touch with Angie or Crystal at the numbers at the beginning of this page. We'll contact you if we see something that might interest you, as well as provide you with talking points to help you write your letter.
Join our Outreach Team
Our outreach team volunteers represent Planned Parenthood at community events around Missouri and Illinois that promote Planned Parenthood services and programs. These volunteers also educate the public about reproductive health related issues.
Help out at a Phone Bank
We often need volunteers to call pro-choice supporters to educate them about upcoming events, legislation, and voting.
Help with Data Entry
We often need help with data entry, mailings and other office work as needed.
