Welcome to Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri’s brand new blog!

We’re excited to present this to our patients, supporters and community partners!

This blog will focus on topical issues of sexual and reproductive health, including helpful tips and information on contraception, STI prevention, and other info to help you stay healthy. The goal of the blog is to answer your questions and help you with some of the problems you may be facing. We want you to feel empowered about your reproductive health care options.

So, why a blog??

One of the barriers to good health outcomes is a lack of information. When we’re talking about sexual and reproductive health, it’s even worse – people are getting bad information. Whether it’s “the rhythm method” or “condoms don’t work,” there is a ton of information and advice out there that may be harmful to your health.

The posts in this blog will cut through some of the rhetoric and bad advice and give you the most up-to-date, scientifically accurate health information we can get our hands on. We’ve been doing this for more than 85 years, so we’re not only health care experts, but we’re also well aware of what’s current and what’s not.

At Planned Parenthood, we provide high-quality health care in a supportive environment. We give you all the facts, and put you in charge of your health. This blog will help us build on the expert care you get in our health centers, and put some of that expertise right on our website! We’ve also seen quite a bit in 85 years. There isn’t much in the realm of reproductive health where we don’t have the expertise.

If you have suggestions for blog topics, want to contribute, or have questions you’d like to see us answer on the blog, send us an email. While this is a PPSLRSWMO blog, we know how important community is to good health, so we’re going to have others in our community contribute to this blog. If you’re interested in writing something for our blog, then send us an email!
