Planned Parenthood recognizes that people with disabilities have unique sex education needs. People with disabilities experience a disproportionately high rate of sexual assault and often lack access to the sex education they both need and deserve.
Lessons are modular and adaptive. They are designed with attention to cognitive, emotional, social, and physical concerns of each group.
Content designed for people with disabilities includes:
• Sexual Hygiene
• Reproductive Anatomy and Physiology
• Healthy Relationship Skills, including Communication and Boundaries
• Managing Sexual Feelings
• Sexual Decision Making
• Abuse Prevention, including Internet Safety
• Birth Control
• Sexually Transmitted Infections
