Let's Talk! A Program for Parents and Caregivers
Teens rank parents as the #1 influence on their sexual decisions- whether or not they ask! Let’s Talk! helps parents turn their values and beliefs about sex into conversations their families need. Parents will receive tips, tools, resources and the confidence and competency they need to help facilitate a conversation about sexual health with their children.
The Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Education department has been awarded a grant from the CareSource Foundation to provide relationship and sexual health education to people with disabilities. We know that people with developmental disabilities are often overlooked or completely forgotten in discussions of human sexuality. PPSWO is aiming to shift those beliefs by educating individuals and their parents/caregivers on how people of all abilities can live their healthiest life. Relationship and sexuality education for people with disabilities will impact many social determinants of health including: a healthier home, healthier child development, and a positive change in healthy behaviors and lifestyles. Those who live, interact with, and care for people with disabilities on a day-to-day basis also find themselves in need of this information. Contact the PPSWO Education Department if you are interested in this new opportunity.
