What is Camp MEE?

Our Education team is dedicated to the belief that all people have a right to relationship and sexual health education that will help them understand, appreciate and take responsibility for their lives. Camp Movement, Enrichment, Empowerment (MEE), is a health and wellness summer camp for youth of all genders, ages 11-14.

However, only 7.2% of students in Ohio received instruction in all 20 comprehensive sex education topics. The Ohio Revised code does not include any requirement for sex education to be medically accurate or comprehensive. In addition, it does not require important topics like consent or gender identity be taught. Camp MEE fills this need by providing campers with factual information in a fun setting.

What some of our past camp parents have to say:

“Before camp started, the idea of going somewhere new without their sibling was a bit scary but at the end of the day they were overjoyed sharing about what a great program it was, saying, 'I wish regular school taught us these real life things in a fun way, too. I didn't think this would happen, but I definitely want to go back tomorrow.'

“My daughter thoroughly enjoyed this camp! Each day we debriefed in the car On the way home and it helped with our parent/child communication."

“My gratitude to your organization for showing up for my family in so many ways will always be strong. You revolutionized the way my child sees their sexuality and empowered them to move confidently in the world. Thank you immensely."
