Stephanie Kight will become President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida on February 1, 2018. She is an experienced health care leader and a lifelong champion for equity. Stephanie has decades of experience in health care business strategy, brand and marketing, public policy advocacy, and program development.
Stephanie has held senior leadership roles at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and at Planned Parenthood affiliates in Ohio and California. Most recently, at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, she initiated and implemented many of Planned Parenthood’s new national marketing and communications approaches. She has refined Planned Parenthood’s brand nationwide and launched the federation’s first sex education text messaging program.
As CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, Stephanie led a successful merger of two large Ohio affiliates that resulted in a $20 million health care and education organization. The 300 person staff of this Ohio affiliate operated 17 health care centers serving an average of 65,000 patients a year and covering 66 of the state’s 88 counties. In her five years as CEO there, Stephanie stabilized and then increased patient volume, improved fundraising performance, and oversaw the establishment of a new structure for the state’s advocacy organization. During her time in Ohio, she also spearheaded the fight against policies considered to be the most hostile to reproductive health in modern American history. Earlier, as Senior Vice President for Community Affairs at Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties, Stephanie was responsible for public affairs, development, marketing, and product/service development.
Stephanie frequently appears on the statewide and national stage protecting Planned Parenthood’s mantle as a leading health care provider, educator and advocate. Her interviews have appeared in Rolling Stone, the Washington Post, the New York Times, CNN.com, the Associated Press, and numerous other print and broadcast outlets.
Prior to Planned Parenthood, Stephanie founded and ran a successful small business and held roles in marketing, business and fund development, and public relations for other mission-driven organizations, such as Families Forward, Mount Carmel Health and the YWCA.
What is the affiliate’s financial picture?
We ended fiscal year 2017 (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017) with our most successful in 23 years. We experienced record-breaking fundraising and increases in patient numbers. We received the highest level of accreditation by our national organization. Under Barbara’s and the board’s leadership, PPSWCF has a solid organizational infrastructure, a robust business model, and thriving philanthropic culture. The board and leadership team are fully confident in our affiliate’s future.
When will the new CEO start? February 1, 2018. With Stephanie’s arrival, a focus of her integration into the affiliate is to meet with the leadership team, directors, medical professionals, staff, and all team members of PPSWCF.
