For Immediate Release: June 7, 2016
SARASOTA, FL — This June (LGBT Pride Month), Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida (PPSWCF) is proud to reaffirm its commitment to the rights and health of LGBTQ people. Planned Parenthood’s doors are open to everyone, and we take pride in providing high-quality health care for LGBTQ people in our community.
“This June, and every day of the year, Planned Parenthood stands with LGBTQ people. We see you. We care about you. We stand with you --- no matter where you live, no matter what,” said Barbara Zdravecky, CEO “ We believe that reproductive rights are deeply connected to civil rights for all Americans. We have long stood with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the struggle for full equality — many of whom turn to Planned Parenthood for health care, information and education in Florida.”
“At Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida we understand that LGBTQ people have unique health care needs,” said Dr. Suzie Prabhakaran, Vice President of Medical Affairs. “We believe that everyone deserves high-quality, affordable health care and compassionate, nonjudgmental sexual health information, no matter what.”
Planned Parenthood strives to provide health care that’s inclusive and respectful of all genders. Our goal is to make every person who comes through our doors feel welcome, comfortable, and cared for while providing the best possible care. We know that every family is unique and every family deserves to be recognized, supported, and valued. We believe that a safe environment for your family is integral to leading a happy and complete life. Your local Planned Parenthood health center can help you get the care you need.
