PPSNE launches a new advertising campaign, sharing the facts about Planned Parenthood throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island

(New Haven, Conn.) — Today, Planned Parenthood of Southern New England (PPSNE) launches its new advertising Facts Campaign in 17 cities and towns in Connecticut and Rhode Island. Southern New England residents will see digital billboards, posters, buses and bus shelters sharing the facts about Planned Parenthood. The goal of the Facts Campaign is to broaden awareness of what Planned Parenthood offers every day.

Planned Parenthood is bold, responsible, forward-thinking and human. The Facts Campaign will help people understand what Planned Parenthood does and why it matters. The centerpiece of the campaign are the simple facts of the services that Planned Parenthood provides nationwide each year:

  • ·         549,804 breast exams is Planned Parenthood.
  • ·         4,425,791 STD tests is Planned Parenthood.
  • ·         328,676 men’s health visits is Planned Parenthood.
  • ·         3,724,558 visits for birth control is Planned Parenthood.

“Planned Parenthood has been dedicated to Connecticut and Rhode Island for more than 90 years,” said Judy Tabar President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. “Highlighting our health care services demonstrates our commitment to providing high-quality care to the women, men and young people in Connecticut and Rhode Island.”

Planned Parenthood health centers provide a broad range of services, more than 90 percent of which are lifesaving cancer screenings, birth control, prevention and treatment of STDs, breast health services, Pap tests, sexual health education, information and health counseling. The engaging and everyday images used in the Facts Campaign are reminders of the breadth of services we offer.

“This is a critical moment in health care and the conversation is shifting to prevention,” stated Tabar. “These everyday images in the Facts Campaign emphasize the importance of preventative health care for southern New Englanders, initiating responsible, preventative health management.”

One in five women has turned to Planned Parenthood at some time in her life for professional, non-judgmental, and confidential care. No one else does more than Planned Parenthood to reduce unintended pregnancies and keep women healthy.
