Planned Parenthood of Southern New England holds the Inaugural New Haven’s CHOICE Affair at Long Wharf Theatre, Stage II in New Haven, Connecticut

(New Haven, CT) On Thursday, November 15, 2012, Planned Parenthood of Southern New England (PPSNE) will present New Haven’s CHOICE Affair from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Long Wharf Theatre, Stage II, 222 Sargent Drive New Haven, CT 06511. Kathleen Turner, director, movie and stage actor, and Planned Parenthood advocate, will host the event.

Turner is best known for her movie breakout role Body Heat, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination; and Francis Ford Coppola's Peggy Sue Got Married which earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her tour de force performance as a mature woman inhabiting the body of her teenage self. Most recently Kathleen Turner can be seen on such shows as Californication, Nip/Tuck and Friends.

Turner is no stranger to the Long Wharf Theatre. She is returning to this stage after 26 years for the 2012-13 season to star in and direct The Killing of Sister George, a new adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher of the play by Frank Marcus. This play will run from November 28 until December 23.

Turner has a long-standing relationship with Planned Parenthood. She is the current chair of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America Board of Advocates and continues to be a contributor of reproduction rights.

New Haven’s CHOICE Affair provides Planned Parenthood supporters an opportunity to interact with Kathleen Turner and hear her share what motivates her passion for our mission,” said Judy Tabar President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. “She is an invaluable partner in raising awareness about the critical, life-saving services we provide at our Planned Parenthood health centers across the country.”

All proceeds from New Haven’s CHOICE Affair go directly to care for PPSNE patients who receive high quality health care, regardless of their ability to pay. Annually, PPSNE serves close to 70,000 men, women and teens, providing a range of health care services, including breast cancer screenings, Pap tests, birth control, and STD/STI testing and treatment.
