& Education Center
at 620 West Seneca Street,
We are fortunate to have dedicated, experienced, professional medical staff located in Elmira, Corning, Hornell, Watkins Glen, and Ithaca. We serve thousands of women, men, and teens each year and offer a wide variety of comprehensive and confidential health services.
Sliding Fee Scale
To ensure that our medical services are accessible to anyone who needs them, we welcome Medicaid patients and we offer discounts based on family income; no one is ever turned away because they cannot afford to pay. We are the only medical provider many of our patients see from year to year. State and Title X federal funding helps to pay for our sliding fee scale, but our annual fundraising campaign, which yields 12% of our revenues, is necessary in order to meet the full need for subsidized services. We also welcome insured patients, whose insurance reimbursements help us to provide services to the uninsured.
Programming & Communications (Sexuality Education and Training, Communications, Sexual Assault Resource Center, projectCAP, Out for Health)
Our professional sexuality educators and trainers, and our Sexual Assault Resource Center staff provided honest, medically accurate, age-appropriate programs and information to more than 14,000 people in 2013. We offer our education and training services to schools, community groups, churches, and communities of faith, college residence halls, and places of business. We work with young people, the professionals who serve them, families, college students, and community members. Our Programming & Communications Department strives to make many of its services available at no cost so that students, school health educators, guidance counselors, and social workers can take full advantage of their expertise.
Through a small staff and a large network of trained volunteers, the Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC) maintains a 24-hour hotline and provides immediate assistance day or night to victims of sexual assault.
Programming & Communications also includes projectCAP, a teen pregnancy prevention program in Chemung County, and Out for Health, a LGBT health and wellness program. Learn more about our programs.
Grassroots organizing is a top priority for our public affairs staff as we seek to build our political effectiveness in an era dominated by an anti-choice Congress and administration. Our goal is to build a vibrant grassroots network that is so much fun, so effective, so active, and so respected that our united voice makes a clear difference in policy regarding sexual health and reproductive rights.
