Community Resources Manager:
The Community Resources Manager works with volunteers, agency staff, Planned Parenthood supporters, and community members to help meet external affairs department goals, including increasing Planned Parenthood’s visibility, promoting our issues and services, and broadening our advocacy base. This full-time, 35 hour/week position manages PPSP’s entire volunteer program and promotes volunteerism through effective recruitment, screening, training and placement of volunteers. This position also supervises the grassroots organizing staff and assists in planning community outreach, including some campaign work through our adjunct electoral organization.
The successful candidate must exhibit excellent written/oral communication and public speaking skills. Strong organizational skills are required as is initiative and ability to work well independently, ability to manage others, ability to maintain confidentiality of volunteers and employee information, juggle multiple priorities, take initiative, take risks, be a team-player and be willing to travel and accept a flexible work schedule that includes evening and weekend commitments. Successful candidate must have access to a car.
Bachelor’s degree and two to three years relevant professional experience required. Previous supervising, organizing, campaign, and volunteer experience strongly preferred as is experience in database management and familiarity with PPSP’s four-county service area.

Internships and Externships

Year round we are able to offer a variety of internships for undergraduate and graduate students interested in learning more about our community outreach, education, marketing, research, and advocacy work. If you are interested in an internship, please email [email protected] with your resume and a cover letter describing what you would like to get out of an internship with PPSP. Someone will follow up with you to discuss available positions.
Our capacity to host students is limited by our available staff and our patients' needs; while we host clinical rotations for medical residents and advanced practice nurses from select institutions, we are unable to host medical assistant externships at this time.
Marketing and Community Outreach Internships available now
Support the PPSP Marketing Department in promoting reproductive health services in the Pottstown and Upper Darby communities. Increase awareness and provide education on basic sexual health information by connecting with local residents and community organizations. Help organize and represent PPSP at community outreach events, including canvasses, street fairs, health fairs, dinners, receptions, workshops, and other events.
