Health Center Assistant:

If you have a high school diploma or GED, strong customer service skills, and a desire to work in a fast-paced team environment, consider a career as a Health Care Assistant in one of our family planning or surgical centers. Our available full-time, part-time, and on-call (per diem or as needed) positions are listed below by location:

  • Coatesville Health Center (CTHC), Chester County – part-time, 5.5 hour/week position: every Friday.

Clinician (Nurse Practitioner):

The Clinician will function in an expanded role in the provision of reproductive health care for women and men. Job duties include, under written Standing Orders of the Medical Director, performing and supervising medical aspects of patient care in contraceptive center in accordance with PPSP Standing Orders and policies and procedures.

Candidates must be licensed or certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania with training in a recognized program or its equivalent; must have experience in reproductive health care including STD’s, contraception, pregnancy sizing and options, counseling experience is essential, and experience in male examination is desirable. Malpractice coverage assumed by clinician if individual coverage required by the State. Our available full-time, part-time, floater, and on-call (per diem or as needed) positions are listed below by location:

  • Castor Avenue (CAHC), Northeast Philadelphia – part-time, 10 hour/week position on Friday/Saturday.
  • Elizabeth Blackwell at Locust Street (EBLO), Center City Philadelphia – part-time, benefits eligible, 25 hour/week position Monday through Thursday and either 1) Friday or Saturday at Castor or 2) Saturday at Norristown.
  • Norristown (NOHC), Montgomery County – part-time, 5.5 hour/week position on Saturday.
  • Upper Darby Health Center (UDHC), Delaware County – part-time, 5.5 hour/week position on every other Saturday.

Health Services Intake Interviewer

The Health Services Intake Interviewer (HSII) is a member of our Transgender Health Services (THS) team.  Our THS team provides sexual and reproductive health care for transgender patients, including gender-affirming hormone therapy on an informed-consent basis; self-injection training; and resources and referrals to a full range of transgender services.  As an HSII you would conduct initial intake interviews, in person or via videoconference, with PPSP patients seeking to medically transition; perform psychosocial assessment of patient’s readiness for medical transition and guide patient in the informed consent process for hormone therapy; document interview information and outcomes in the patient’s electronic health record; participate in PPSP’s Transgender Health Services Team meetings, and be expected to stay current on general trends in transgender health care.

A Master of Social Work is required and a LCSW is preferred.  Highly preferred are experience communicating with persons of diverse backgrounds in an empathetic, nonjudgmental manner; experience mastering content and procedures and educating others in same; experience providing patient care and education in family planning and sexual health; and experience with NextGen or similar Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.

Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager will lead a staff of employees, volunteers and/or interns and is accountable for the design, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive, high-reach marketing program that will attract new patients and partners and enhance awareness and image of PPSP.  

A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field is preferred; 3-5 years of marketing experience, specifically in a health care and/or non-profit setting; and a track record of developing, implementing, and evaluating successful marketing plans is required.  In addition you must possess advanced skills in program and project planning; exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; knowledge and skills in developing and managing budgets; skill to write copy for all marketing materials; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders; and the ability to interface effectively and professionally with diverse individuals at various levels of the organization.

Sexual Health Educator

The Sexual Health Educator is responsible to provide sexuality and reproductive health education to a diverse population in a variety of settings. 

A Bachelor’s degree in related field (public health, sexuality, women’s health, education) or minimum two years of experience in program facilitation for youth/young adults or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. In addition you must possess individual and group facilitation skills; knowledge of sexuality education and adolescent development; ability to work with minimal supervision; strong organizational skills; ability and desire to work in a team environment; ability to strictly maintain confidentiality of all PPSP activities and clients; ability to travel throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania; availability to work occasional weekends and/or evenings; desire and commitment to work with youth; ability to demonstrate mature judgement, initiative, and critical thinking; competence with computer software programs for writing, researching, and communicating; ability to manage time independently to complete multiple projects and priorities simultaneously; and the cultural sensitivity and ability to understand and relate to people of all identities, ages, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. 

We have two full-time, 35 hour/week, benefit-eligible positions available to work from our center city Philadelphia and West Chester locations. Thank you for your interest in interning or externing with Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania.  Year round we are able to offer a variety of internships for undergraduate and graduate students interested in learning more about our community outreach, education, marketing, research, and advocacy work. Clinical Placements for Students and Externs:

Our capacity to host students is limited by our available staff and our patients' needs. At this time, Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania provides clinical placements for medical residents and medical fellows only. Until further notice, we are not providing clinical placements for nursing students (including advanced practice) or externships for medical assistants.
