Gender Affirming Care Services Coordinator:

Are you passionate about community access to high-quality health services and information? If so, consider joining PPSP as a Gender Affirming Care Services Coordinator and become a member of our Gender Affirming Care (GAC) team.  Our GAC team provides sexual and reproductive health care for transgender patients, including gender-affirming hormone therapy on an informed-consent basis; self-injection training; and resources and referrals to a full range of transgender services.

As a Gender Affirming Care (GAC) Services Coordinator you would provide administrative oversight and serve as key point person for GAC Services within the Patient Services Department. The Coordinator works with Patient Services leadership, Marketing and Outreach, Billing, and other departments as appropriate to promote and advocate for the program and the patients seeking gender-affirming care. The Coordinator works with the clinical staff in the provision of clinical care and serves as administrative support in communications with patients (key contact for patients).

The Gender Affirming Care (GAC) Services Coordinator will also conduct initial intake interviews, in person or via videoconference, with PPSP patients seeking to medically transition; perform psychosocial assessment of patient’s readiness for medical transition and guide patient in the informed consent process for hormone therapy; document interview information and outcomes in the patient’s electronic health record; participate in PPSP’s GAC Services Team meetings, and be expected to stay current on general trends in transgender health care.

You must possess a Master of Social Work (MSW), LCSW preferred, have experience working with/within the Transgender Community; program coordination or oversight; ability to communicate with persons of diverse backgrounds in an empathetic, nonjudgmental manner; and have experience mastering content and procedures and educating others in same.  Experience providing patient care and education in family planning and sexual health and experience with NextGen or similar Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems are highly preferred. 

We have a benefits eligible, part-time, 25 hour/week position working from our center city Philadelphia Health Center, our Pottstown Health Center (Montgomery County), and our West Chester Health Center (Chester County).

Health Center Assistant:

Make a difference in people’s lives!  Join Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania as a Health Center Assistant.  If you have a high school diploma or GED, strong customer service skills, and a desire to work in a fast-paced team environment, consider a career as a Health Care Assistant in one of our family planning or surgical centers. Our available full-time, part-time, and on-call (per diem or as needed) positions are listed below by location:

  • Castor Health Center in Northeast Philadelphia for a full-time, benefits-eligible, 35 hour/week, bilingual position.
  • Elizabeth Blackwell Health Center at Locust Street (EBLO) in Center City Philadelphia, for a full-time, benefits-eligible, 35 hour/week position, rotating evenings and some Saturdays, bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Media Health Center (MEHC) in Delaware County for a part-time, benefits-eligible 28 hour/week position, Mon-Thursday.
  • Pottstown Health Center (POHC) in Montgomery County for a part-time, benefits-eligible 27 hour/week position.
  • Upper Darby Health Center (UDHC) in Delaware County for a full-time, benefits eligible 35 hour/week position Mon-Thursday and every other Friday/Saturday.

Surgical RN:

The Surgical RN position is responsible to provide excellent customer service to patients in compliance with overall PPSP mission, goals and in compliance with federal, state and PPFA regulations. In addition, this position is also responsible to provide nursing care to patients during procedures and in the recovery area.

This position requires a candidate with a BSN Degree, Pennsylvania RN License, BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications and with OB/GYN or emergency room experience preferred; working knowledge of contraceptive technology required; demonstrated ability to relate to persons of diverse background and ability to communicate effectively with clients; previous experience interviewing and educating patients; ability to intervene in crisis situations, and demonstrated ability to effectively manage a medical emergency. Our available full-time, part-time, and on-call (per diem or as needed) positions are listed below by location:

  • Surgical Far Northeast Center (SUFN) in Northeast Philadelphia for a part-time, 21 hour/week position.
  • Surgical Locust Health Center (SULO) in Center City Philadelphia for a part-time, benefits-eligible 28 hour/week position.

Vice President for Advocacy & Public Policy:

If you are passionate about reproductive health and rights and are seeking the opportunity to contribute in a mission-driven environment, consider joining Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania (PPSP) as Vice President for Advocacy and Public Affairs.  This is a full-time position that reports to the President/CEO, serves as a member of senior leadership, oversees staff, supports a committed Board of Directors, and provides strategic leadership, direction, and management for all aspects of PPSP’s public policy initiatives.

Key responsibilities of this position include: 1) directing governmental relations efforts for PPSP (registered lobbyist in PA), including developing lobbying strategy; 2) overseeing electoral activities in southeastern PA through our state office political organizations, including working directly with candidates; 3)  overseeing the communications and media efforts of PPSP; 4) creating, evaluating and advancing partnerships and communications that shape the climate in which PPSP pursues its goals and provides its programs, along with those that mobilize and increase community support for PP’s issues and services;  5) managing department staff and select volunteers.

The successful candidate must have direct and significant experience with lobbying and community/political organizing programs, media relations, and oversight of campaign activities along with extremely well developed written and verbal communications skills. Must be committed to protecting access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive healthcare, and be able and willing to perform all of the essential functions of the position. 

A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in related area; 5+ years of leadership experience in government relations, lobbying, political advocacy, grassroots organizing and media messaging; significant management and supervisory experience are also required.
