AIC Program Assistant

We have a temporary, part-time, 20 hour week, position for an AIC Program Assistant to work at the AIC on North Philadelphia.  The Achieving Independence Center (“AIC”) is a collaborative project, sponsored by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services and managed by Valley Youth House, dedicated to supporting youth transitioning out of foster care.  PPSP is contracted to provide group and individual support to AIC members in the area of sexual health, including healthy relationships.  The AIC Program Assistant initiates and coordinates selected activities, and supports the AIC Program Coordinator.

A Bachelor’s degree in related field (public health, sexuality, women’s health, education) or two years of experience in program facilitation for youth/young adults or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Knowledge of Planned Parenthood mission, services, values, and service standards a plus.  Candidate must possess individual and group facilitation skills; knowledge of sexuality education; desire and ability to work with youth; ability to perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision; excellent written/oral communication, organizational, and customer service skills; and office systems skills including the use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).  Must maintain confidentiality of all PPSP activities and clients, demonstrate flexibility and teamwork, and incorporate customer satisfaction into all aspects of operation.

Clinician (Nurse Practitioner):

The Clinician will function in an expanded role in the provision of reproductive health care for women and men. Job duties include, under written Standing Orders of the Medical Director, performing and supervising medical aspects of patient care in contraceptive center in accordance with PPSP Standing Orders and policies and procedures.

Candidates must be licensed or certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania with training in a recognized program or its equivalent; must have experience in reproductive health care including STD’s, contraception, pregnancy sizing and options, counseling experience is essential, and experience in male examination is desirable. Malpractice coverage assumed by clinician if individual coverage required by the State. Our available full-time, part-time, floater, and on-call (per diem or as needed) positions are listed below by location:

  • Castor Avenue (CAHC). Northeast Philadelphia – part-time, 21 hour/week position on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
  • Castor Avenue (CAHC), Northeast Philadelphia – part-time, 5 hour/week position on Saturday.
  • Norristown (NOHC), Montgomery County – part-time, 5.5 hour/week position on Saturday.

Vice President of Development

Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania, (PPSP), an affiliate of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, supports Planned Parenthood activities in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania.

PPSP is seeking a Vice President of Development, who will report to the President/CEO, support a committed Board of Directors, serve as a member of senior leadership, oversee a staff of four, and provide strategic leadership, direction, and management for all aspects of PPSP’s fundraising initiatives.

Key priorities of this position will include, but not be limited to, the following: 1) individual (major gifts, planned, annual, and matching) fundraising; 2) institutional relations; and 3) development events. The ability to communicate with passion the mission of PPSP to diverse internal and external stakeholders throughout the region will be essential. The ability to proactively message and link PPSP’s philanthropic needs to the changing healthcare landscape will be essential as well.

With outstanding strategic, communications, and relationship building skills, the Vice President of Development will bring a demonstrated track record in identifying, cultivating, and stewarding major donors on behalf of PPSP.  Experience leading a comprehensive and multi-faceted development program is critically important. The successful candidate will also be expected to be an active partner in philanthropic related activities with the President/CEO, Board, volunteers, community organizations, and state Planned Parenthood representatives in coordinating and advancing PPSP’s outreach efforts.

A Bachelor’s Degree is required; a Masters preferred. 8+ years of experience as a senior fundraising professional is required. Experience working within the context of an affiliated and/or umbrella organization would be a plus. Strong writing and technical skills, accompanied by expertise in working with donor databases, will be key.

Our capacity to host students is limited by our available staff and our patients' needs. At this time, Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania provides clinical placements for medical residents and medical fellows only.
