Clinical Research Coordinator:

The Clinical Research Coordinator is a full-time, benefits-eligible, 35 hour/week position working from center city Philadelphia.  This position is responsible to perform a range of activities in Phase II-IV clinical research studies to include recruiting and enrolling subjects and performing other study activities in accordance with good clinical practices, standard operating procedures, study protocols, and contractual specifications.

A High School diploma or equivalent is required; college graduate preferred with minimum of one year experience in research and/or health care.  Candidate must exhibit excellent written/oral communication, organizational, customer service, analytical, and problem solving skills; proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and the Internet; ability to be detail oriented and able to enter, track and manage data in various databases; a commitment to accuracy and quality; the ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines; the ability to work independently and take initiative to address issues with minimal supervision; and the ability to work flexible hours (which may include evenings and Saturdays) and travel to PPSP sites throughout the four-county service area.

Clinical Research Operations Manager:

If you are passionate about reproductive health and the opportunity to contribute in a mission-drive environment, consider joining PPSP as Clinical Research Operations Manager.  This is a benefits-eligible, full-time, 35 hour/week position responsible to oversee the day-to-day operations of all clinical research activities and to ensure compliance with study protocols and regulatory policies and alignment with the goals of the research program, the health centers, and the affiliate overall.  This position leads clinical research coordinators to implement and oversee studies and to achieve the program’s strategic and tactical goals and serves as liaison to sponsors on all operational matters.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of clinical research experience.  CCRP preferred as well as Master’s degree in related subject; combination of professional experience and skills may be considered in lieu of formal/traditional education.  Candidate must possess demonstrated success in training, coordinating and overseeing work teams, formal supervisory experience strongly preferred; advanced computer skills; be a self-motivated achiever able to work both independently and collaboratively; proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, in writing and orally; superior organization skills and strong technical abilities, including EDC and IRB submission; clinical research study protocol, contract, and budget review; and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Executive Assistant to the President and CEO:

If you are passionate about reproductive health and the opportunity to contribute in a mission-driven environment, consider joining PPSP as Executive Assistant to the President and CEO.  This is a benefits-eligible, part-time, 25 hour/week position responsible for managing the Office of the President and CEO, ensuring that the President’s time and resources are optimally employed and the President is well-prepared, supported and positioned, internally and externally.  You will provide high-level administrative support, maintain efficient and effective office systems, and assist the President with the diverse tasks associated with the office, including support to the Board of Directors.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, 3-5 years of professional experience in a high-level administrative capacity, advanced computer skills, and be a self-motivated achiever able to work both independently and collaboratively.  Also required are the proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, in writing and orally; and superior organization skills to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of customer service.

External Affairs Administrative Assistant:

If you are passionate about reproductive health and the opportunity to contribute in a mission-driven environment, consider joining PPSP as External Affairs Administrative Coordinator.  This is a part-time, 17.5 hour/week position responsible to develop, coordinate, maintain, and seek to continually improve the administrative infrastructure of essential External Affairs functions, primarily focused on the volunteer programs and grassroots organizing, including legislative advocacy.  This position will work directly with the Media and Government Relations Specialist to maintain, extend, and evaluate the PPSP volunteer program. We are based in center city Philadelphia. 

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 3 years of professional experience; possess proficiency in Microsoft software; demonstrated ability to maintain a customer-centric service approach in a fast-paced environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate and interact with all levels within and outside of the organization; strong attention to detail and follow-up; ability to multi-task; and strong interpersonal, time-management, and problem-solving skills.  Interest/experience in organizing preferred.

Health Center Assistant:

Our available full-time, part-time, and on-call (per diem or as needed) positions are listed below by location:

  • Elizabeth Blackwell Health Center at Locust Street (EBLO) in Center City Philadelphia, for a full-time, benefits eligible, 35 hour/week position, rotating evenings and some Saturdays, bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Media Health Center (MEHC) in Delaware County for a part-time, benefits eligible 28 hour/week position.
  • Surgical Locust Health Center (SULO) in Center City Philadelphia, for a part-time, benefits eligible 28 hour/week position.
  • Upper Darby Health Center (UDHC) in Delaware County for a part-time, benefits eligible 30 hour/week position, bilingual preferred.

Surgical RN:

We have a part-time, 32 hour/week, position available as a Surgical Registered Nurse (BSN) at our Surgical Far Northeast Philadelphia and Surgical Norristown health centers.  This position would work 4 days/week at Surgical Far Northeast and one day/week at Surgical Norristown and is responsible to provide excellent customer service to patients in compliance with overall PPSP mission, goals and in compliance with federal, state and PPFA regulations.  In addition, this position is also responsible to provide nursing care to patients during procedures and in the recovery area.

This position requires a candidate with a BSN Degree, Pennsylvania RN License, BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications and with OB/GYN or emergency room experience preferred; working knowledge of contraceptive technology required; demonstrated ability to relate to persons of diverse background and ability to communicate effectively with clients; previous experience interviewing and educating patients; ability to intervene in crisis situations; and demonstrated ability to effectively manage a medical emergency.

Vice President for Advocacy & Public Policy:

If you are passionate about reproductive health and rights and are seeking the opportunity to contribute in a mission-driven environment, consider joining Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania (PPSP) as Vice President for Advocacy and Public Affairs.  This is a full-time position that reports to the President/CEO, serves as a member of senior leadership, oversees staff, supports a committed Board of Directors, and provides strategic leadership, direction, and management for all aspects of PPSP’s public policy initiatives.

Key responsibilities of this position include: 1) directing governmental relations efforts for PPSP (registered lobbyist in PA), including developing lobbying strategy; 2) overseeing electoral activities in southeastern PA through our state office political organizations, including working directly with candidates; 3)  overseeing the communications and media efforts of PPSP; 4) creating, evaluating and advancing partnerships and communications that shape the climate in which PPSP pursues its goals and provides its programs, along with those that mobilize and increase community support for PP’s issues and services;  5) managing department staff and select volunteers.

The successful candidate must have direct and significant experience with lobbying and community/political organizing programs, media relations, and oversight of campaign activities along with extremely well developed written and verbal communications skills. Must be committed to protecting access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive healthcare, and be able and willing to perform all of the essential functions of the position. 

A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in related area; 5+ years of leadership experience in government relations, lobbying, political advocacy, grassroots organizing and media messaging; significant management and supervisory experience are also required.

Thank you for your interest in interning or externing with Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania.  Year round we are able to offer a variety of internships for undergraduate and graduate students interested in learning more about our community outreach, education, marketing, research, and advocacy work. Our capacity to host students is limited by our available staff and our patients' needs. At this time, Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania provides clinical placements for medical residents and medical fellows only. Until further notice, we are not providing clinical placements for nursing students (including advanced practice) or externships for medical assistants.
