Statement of Lillian Tamayo and Stephanie Fraim, Presidents and CEOs of Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida and Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida:

“Planned Parenthood’s top priority is the health and safety of our patients and staff. We know your health care can’t wait. Abortion is an essential, time-sensitive medical procedure, as medical experts like the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology have recognized.

We are complying with Governor DeSantis’ executive order and doing our part to conserve personal protective equipment during this critical time in caring for patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Under that order, Planned Parenthood can still continue providing essential procedures, including surgical abortion, and our health centers continue to offer other health care services that our patients depend on. Our doors remain open for this care.

Whether we provide services online, by phone, in person or by chat or text – for over 100 years now we have been there for our patients, no matter what, and nothing will change that. We will keep our doors open and provide health care for everyone who needs us. Planned Parenthood is here with you.”
