Leaders Igniting a Generation of Healthy Teens (LIGHT)

The LIGHT program is focused on providing teen educators within Broward County schools to act as resources for reproductive health information for their friends and peers. It also seeks to create a climate that supports healthy decision-making and advocacy skills among young people while building a pipe­line to leadership.  To get started, click here for an application!

Requirements for being a Peer Educator:

  • Be a high school  student in Broward County  that live or go to school in the zip code 33309,33311,33312,33313,333020,33023, 33024, or 33025
  • Have an interest in providing accurate sexual health information to others
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Commit to attending training sessions and regular meetings weekly
  • Respect diverse opinions, beliefs and values
  • Maintain confidentiality of personal information
  • Be able to make a one-year commitment to the program
  • Have parent/guardian permission and the ability to arrange your own transportation
