TelAbortion

A TelAbortion involves all the same steps as an in-person medication abortion, but you do not have to travel to a health center.

TelAbortion: a new way to obtain the abortion pill

If you are considering an abortion, and live in Colorado, Nevada, or New Mexico, you may be able to receive the abortion pill by mail by participating in a research study. If you would like to schedule a video evaluation, call us at 303-813-7712.

How does it work?

A TelAbortion involves all the same steps and procedures as an in-person medication abortion, but you do not have to travel to a health center. Instead, an abortion provider conducts a video evaluation over the internet. Any tests if needed are done at medical facilities close to your home. The abortion pills are then sent to you by mail.

Do I qualify for the study?

  1. You are pregnant and want a medical abortion.
  2. You are able to have all the pre-abortion tests (if needed), receive the medications, and take the first abortion pill before you are 77 days (11 weeks) along in your pregnancy. If you have already had an ultrasound done, having the report on hand before you contact the TelAbortion study provider can speed up the process.
  3. To have the video evaluation, you need access to a phone, tablet, or computer with internet connection and a webcam and microphone.
