We are a group of LGBTQ+ youth and allies who come together and make memories. We support one another and recognize one another for who we are, not who the world wants us to be. We are truly safe to be ourselves, and the staff support us in what we want to do.

Serious stuff we talk about:

We can talk about issues that affect us, like challenges around being LGBTQ+ in school, what we need from allies, or tips and tricks for challenging gender roles and expectations. We can learn about safer sex and HIV prevention in fun ways, and about healthy relationships. We also learn what other members of our LGBTQ+ community are up to.

Less serious stuff you can expect:

  • There's ALWAYS free food
  • Games and music
  • Fun and funny people
  • Movie and TV marathons are a must
  • Dance parties definitely happen
  • Super Smash Bros. is brilliant
  • The couches are super comfy
  • Did we mention free food?

TEENM'Power Core Group

The best way to get involved is to join the Core Group. This group decides what we do, plans our events, and sets the tone for what the group wants to achieve. To become a Core Member, you must come to at least half of the events in a month, and stay past 5 p.m. for half of those.

There are perks! The Core Group gets free shirts and swag, gas cards or gift cards, and gets to participate in community outings for free. (Laser tag or Cliff’s, anyone?)

Keep in mind, everyone is welcome at all events, even if you aren’t a Core Member. Core Team meetings are not exclusive, and your opinion is always heard.
