I’m proud to lead an organization that strives to make abortion services accessible to all.
We’re at a critical point in the fight to make sure abortion services remain safe and legal. These past few months we’ve seen access being stripped away, restrictions being put on people seeking care, and law makers actively working to create barriers to services.
Despite everything happening, our Planned Parenthood Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley (PPPSGV) abortion providers continue to show up to provide care to all. I’m so grateful that our highly skilled medical team including our advanced practice clinicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other staff who work to ensure abortion patients get the high-quality, compassionate care they deserve. Today on National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers, and every day, I’m amazed and inspired by the incredible care our team provides.
I’m not alone in this feeling, our patients have shared they feel the same way. Here are some of the testimonials we’ve received:
“Literally the best doctor visit I have ever had. they took so much care and treated me with such kindness.” -PPPSGV Patient
“My nurse practitioner was very kind and considerate. Answered all my questions and explained the process thoroughly. I didn't catch her name because I was feeling a bit nervous but she quickly made me feel comfortable.” - PPPSGV Patient
“I appreciate how everyone was non-judgmental of my situation and was supportive of me during an emotionally, mentally, and physically difficult time.” - PPPSGV Patient
At PPPSGV, we believe that each person is the expert in their own life — including their body, their future, and their unique set of life circumstances. We are committed to ensuring that all patients have accurate information about all of their pregnancy options and are able to make their own, fully-informed medical decisions about their health, families, and futures. And we will continue to advocate for access to equitable sexual and reproductive health care – including abortion.
As we continue to fight for the right to expand abortion access, it is so important that we continue to openly speak about abortion because the truth is that abortion is a normal part of many people's sexual and reproductive lives. And every day, our abortion providers deliver this necessary medical care to our community. On this special day and every day, I ask you to join me in thanking our PPPSGV health care heroes.
