Free Online Sex Education Resource Now Available for Students, Parents and Teachers

Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest has launched Sex Ed To-Go, a free online sex education platform in English and Spanish for students, parents and teachers. Sex Ed To-Go offers resources and trainings for teachers, provides helpful tips for parents on how to talk to their kids about sex, and helps students get all their sex education questions answered.

The new education resource was launched at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic because students deserve access to medically accurate and inclusive sex ed, especially at a time when COVID-19 has changed how accessible certain educational resources are. The courses offered cover topics such as anatomy and physiology, consent, how to prepare for conversations about sex, California laws and policies, and more.

“At a time when many schools, libraries, and other educational settings are not operating as usual, it is more critical than ever that we provide people with easy, free and accessible sex ed,” said Darrah Johnson, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest. “We are proud to offer these high quality educational resources to students, parents and teachers across the country.”

Since its launch, Sex Ed to Go has gotten a positive response from users from across the country. A middle school teacher from Minnesota said, “I’m so thankful for this program. It’s the best sex education out there.” It has also received great feedback from students. One high school student said, “The lack of pressure is a really great thing about Sex Ed To-Go courses because you can make a mistake and ask questions without any fear. Plus, it helps you if you missed your normal sex ed class because of COVID or for any other reason. There’s no reason not to do it.”
