We welcome everyone who needs care.

We offer gender-affirming hormone therapy and health services to the transgender community. Transgender people, especially transgender people of color, experience greater difficulty accessing quality care due to systemic barriers and discrimination — and that’s not okay.

How do I make an appointment?

Please contact us at 1-888-743-PLAN to schedule an appointment for an Initial Hormone Therapy visit or any other health services you might be seeking. At this appointment, we will review your medical history, review an Informed Consent form, and draw lab tests. If you’re seeking hormones, depending on your medical history, we will either prescribe the hormones to you at your first visit or wait to prescribe them until we get your lab results back.

Planned Parenthood is dedicated to making health care accessible and welcoming to everyone who needs that care, no matter what.

About Our Transgender Health Services:

Which heath care, in addition to hormone therapy, does Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest offer to our transgender, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming patients?

Our medical staff is educated about transgender issues and etiquette, and respectful of individual patient needs and preferences. In addition to hormone therapy, health services can include birth control services, PrEP and PEP, STD testing and treatment, abortion, and screenings for cervical and breast cancers. Additional services include care coordination, referrals for care like laser hair removal or legal support, and referrals for other social services as needed.

All services we offer at Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest are available to patients of all genders. See “For Patients” to learn more about our wide range of services.

If I'm already on hormones, can I transfer my care to Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest?

Yes, you will be able to transfer your hormone care. You will still have to make an appointment for an initial Hormone Therapy visit so that we can go through our Informed Consent form with you. Also, please make sure to bring information about your current prescription and dosage to the initial visit.

How much does it cost?

We have staff ready to help you figure out costs and payments for this service for both insured and uninsured patients. The State of California requires private and public-funded insurance plans to include gender transition-related care. If you would like to learn more prior to your initial visit, you can start by calling 1-888-743-PLAN.

How old do I have to be to receive hormones from Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest?

For our gender-affirming hormone therapy, we see patients 18 and over. If you are under 18, we can refer you to other providers who can give you hormonal care.
