Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has created a video, “This is Health Care,” about Erin Panichkul — who was a featured speaker at Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest’s Goodbye Stigma event in 2019.

Erin is the child of Thai immigrants, and her accomplishments as a lawyer are very meaningful for her family. At 18 and then at 24, Erin had abortions at Planned Parenthood. The organization is important to her; she says having access to abortion helped her create her life and be able to thrive and do the work she does today. Erin is an outspoken advocate for reproductive rights and access, because she strongly believes that social justice is reproductive justice. In her role as head of a law student network, with its nearly 100 chapters across the country, Erin provides resources and training on institutional and cultural oppression, among other topics.

Watch it now.
