We celebrate Thanks, Birth Control Day every year in November to acknowledge how contraception allows people to plan for a family on their own terms and gives them the power to decide their future.

Support for birth control is broad and deep and there are many benefits to using birth control, ranging from easing period flow and cramps to preventing unplanned pregnancies. Unfortunately, even today, not everyone has equitable information about and access to the full range of contraceptive methods, and there is often still a stigma associated with the use of contraception.

According to the Guttmacher Institute, more than 99 percent of women ages 15-44 who have ever had sexual intercourse have used at least one contraceptive method. And according to a survey by Power to Decide, 84 percent of adults are thankful that birth control allows them to decide if, when, and under what circumstances to get pregnant and have a child.

Birth control helps people in many ways — no matter who they are or where they live. Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest offers many different birth control options, from IUDs to implants to condoms, and more. We’re experts in birth control, and we can help you find the right fit for you.

Thanks, Birth Control!
