San Diego Pride 2016 was an incredible and inspiring success. More than 100 Planned Parenthood volunteers gave out 10,000 condoms!

We interviewed Scott, the head of our LGBTQ advisory group at Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest and 21st-year Pride volunteer, to see how it all turned out:

How was the San Diego Pride Parade this year?
Amazing—lots of dancing and partying with the Planned Parenthood people…we handed out all of our condoms and dental dams again!

What was the crowd like?
Super pumped! I credit a lot of the excitement to the volunteer that brought her portable sound system. We had amazing music for the entire route and everybody was dancing, partying, and getting the crowd screaming as we went by.

What did you do after the parade?
Went home and took a nap!

What was your favorite part of the experience?
Seeing all the first-time marchers, the Board members, and all the babies that joined us. The energy around the entire event was fantastic!

-Scott

Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest supports LGBTQ health, now and forever. We’ve marched in the San Diego Pride Parade since 2001. Thank you to all of our dedicated, spirited volunteers!
