We’re expanding our gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) to include appointments across our entire 3-county region.

“I am so proud to see over 2 years of work coming to fruition in expanding these services,” said Dr. Kyle Bukowski, the associate medical director at Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest.

“Our agency remains committed to meeting patients where they are, providing care to those who need it most, and removing barriers to care whenever present,” he said.

Phase 1 will launch in August and includes El Cajon, First Avenue Family Planning, Moreno Valley, and Coachella health centers.

Phase II is scheduled to launch in November and will include Chula Vista, Imperial Valley, and either Vista or Escondido health centers.

We are also expanding our network of referrals for patients who are seeking surgery, legal aid, and many other social services. Several of these new partners are the Transgender Health and Wellness Resource Center, Transfamily Support Services, Rady’s Children’s Hospital, and many of the regional LGBT Community Centers in all three counties that we serve.

Our gender-affirming hormone therapy is currently for patients 18 or older; we hope to expand to patients under 18 in the future.

We are proud to be offering these health services to transgender people in the community, and welcome them with open hearts and open doors!
