After 7 months of construction and renovation, we’ve completed the Riverside health center.

“The renovation provides a refreshed space that is welcoming and comforting,” said Dr. Kyle Bukowski, associate medical director of Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest. “Our open team space allows for constant collaboration between every member of the team.”

The design, furniture, and all spaces have been completely utilized, with 6 more exam rooms (15 total) that enable the staff to see an additional 50 patients per day.

“Patients are hearing through word of mouth that it’s a beautiful center, where they can see their favorite providers, in a beautiful new space, with nice new exam rooms,” said Lori Keim, senior director of business initiatives. “The lobby feels contemporary and spacious.”

Staff and patients are happy, and the health center has already expanded to see almost 20 percent more patients over the past few weeks.

“Many times during the week, all the exam rooms are full,” Lori said. “The demand is there.”

Riverside health center was already one of our busiest health centers, with very high patient volume.

“The demand is higher than the number of providers in the community,” said Lori. “We’re looking forward to bringing in even more staff, and our expansion will help to better bridge that gap that folks are currently experiencing.”

Because the overall community is expanding, patient demand in Riverside should continue to grow.

“Upcoming opportunities include looking to further expand our services in western Riverside, either through a new location, partnerships, or other venues to deliver care,” said Lori.

The new health center is a symbol of allegiance to our patients, above everything else.

“The investment in the Riverside health center reflects our affiliate’s greater commitment to providing high-quality, evidence based reproductive health care to this community,” said Dr. Bukowski.
