We are thrilled to announce that General Counsel for Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, Tracy Skaddan, has received the statewide, 2017 Judith Soley Lawyer as Citizen Award.

The award, presented at the California Women Lawyers Annual Conference on April 7 in San Diego, honors not only Tracy’s excellence as a lawyer but her immense commitment to community service.

In the last decade, Tracy has devoted countless hours to projects serving the women and children of San Diego as a leader and champion. Her issues and causes have included Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, the Alliance for African Assistance, and the Lawyers Club of San Diego, to name a few.

“My commitment to community service was founded on what I was taught at our dining room table growing up,” explained Tracy. “We were taught to fight for equality, to accept and understand differences, and take action to help others.” This became the foundation for Tracy’s commitment to serving those less privileged.

Tracy has made the effort to make community service a priority in her life and is a role model for her daughters and others. “I want them to recognize that engagement in civic and charitable efforts should be embedded in their daily life. If all of us made a deeper commitment to others less fortunate, we’d have such better communities.”
