At Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, we are grateful to be able to use our resources and platforms to lift up Black-led, anti-racist, and social justice-focused organizations in our region. Below, we have highlighted some of the great work being done by our community partners and have included resources to learn more.

The Brown Bag Coalition is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping Calexico's houseless population. They distribute meals to an average of 50 people 6 days a week Monday through Saturday. They also provide clothing, shoes, blankets, toiletries, weather related items and refer people to agencies to access additional resources. Project New Village is a non-profit based in southeastern San Diego with a mission to serve as a catalyst for resident-led, community-rooted experiences that build stronger neighborhoods; improve the neighborhood food supply chain; stimulate collective investment in better health; and maximize the impact of investment to address social inequities. They are focused on improving fresh food access in southeastern San Diego as part of a broad-based movement to build social equity, giving way to healthy neighborhoods. Project New Village uses a social-determinants-of-health model that views food equity and self-determination as key factors for achieving better health. Sigma Beta Xi is a non-profit organization based in Moreno Valley. Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty and violence through mentoring, education, and community organizing. Their vision is to empower future professional leaders in every community in the world using yesterday's influence to produce today's change. To learn more and/or to donate, visit sigmabetaxi.com.

We are proud to support these great organizations and are looking forward to sharing more information about other critical work being done in our communities!
