Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards recently discussed the challenges facing reproductive health care, the state of feminism and much more. Pointing out that the issues surrounding sexual health aren’t just a concern for women, Cecile notes that her son is joining a growing number of men active in supporting Planned Parenthood.

She highlighted the importance of social media in rallying supporters and giving our patients a voice. The article touched on politics, controversy and how the organization has mastered the art of turning lemons into lemonade, essentially running “a permanent lemonade stand.”

Most importantly, she discussed the future of Planned Parenthood and, in proper Cecile fashion, she is optimistic. With shifting political views and new technology that allows patients to see doctors online, we’re breaking down the “barriers between ‘wow, I need birth control’ and getting it.”
