¿Quién puede registrarse para votar?

En California, debe ser un ciudadano de los Estados Unidos y residente de California, mayor de 18 años el día de las elecciones, no cumplir una condena actual en una prisión estatal ni federal por cometer un delito grave (más información aquí) y no ser considerado mentalmente incapaz de votar por un tribunal actualmente (más información aquí).

 

¿Qué debo llevar cuando me registro para votar?

Para registrarse en línea, necesitará:

  • Su licencia de conducir de California o número de tarjeta de identificación de California.
  • Los últimos cuatro dígitos de su número del seguro social.
  • Su fecha de nacimiento.

Se proporcionará su información al Departamento de Vehículos Motorizados (DMV, por sus siglas en inglés) de California para recopilar una copia de su firma en el DMV. Si no tiene una licencia de conducir de California o una tarjeta de identificación de California, aún puede utilizar este formulario para solicitar el registro para votar. Sin embargo, necesitará tomar pasos adicionales para completar su registro de votante.
