How to Become a Volunteer

First you will need to fill out a volunteer application, be available for a 15-minute phone interview, read and sign forms that explain our various policies, and possibly attend an in-person interview.

Once we receive your application we will contact you to discuss the next steps.

We want to provide you with a meaningful internship experience where you can learn new skills from our talented staff.

There are internships available in most departments like:

  • Community Education
  • Community Outreach
  • Marketing and Communications
  • Patient Services Administration
  • Public Affairs
  • Women, Infants and Children (WIC) office

*We do not offer internships in our health centers.

Requirements needed to become an intern 
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor or Master degree program from an accredited college or university
  • Available on weekdays during regular business hours, may include weekends
  • Provide 4-8 hours per week 
  • Ability to commit to 4-6 months as an intern
  • Complete an in-person interview and pass a background check
