Youth Education Services
Peer Education Program
Youth, ages 15-19, have the opportunity to join this year-long program that empowers them to become leaders on their school campuses and in their community. Youth are invited to attend a 2-day weekend training to become a certified peer health educator for the program. During this training youth gain leadership skills, learn how to be an advocate and a resource to their peers, and increase their knowledge on a variety of topics such as the importance of goals and values, dating violence, reproductive and sexual health topics, and much more.
Once certified, peers have the opportunity to volunteer with us in the community, be a part of our monthly meetings, attend our annual peer banquet, and other great opportunities. Students are also able to count their Peer Program hours towards community service hours!
