(Burlington, VT)—On December 27th, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) will open a new health center in St. Johnsbury at 501 Portland Street.

The St. Johnsbury Health Center will feature convenient, high quality sexual health care services including annual exams, birth control, pregnancy testing, immunizations, testing & treatment for sexually transmitted infections, and more.

PPNNE also plans to pilot a telemedicine program in conjunction with this opening. At both the St. Johnsbury and Newport health centers, patients will be able to receive non-exam services via video conferencing. This program will greatly increase access to PPNNE’s reproductive and sexual health care services, without the need for patients to drive long distances.

“The community has been extremely welcoming,” said Kate Plummer, Certified Nurse-Midwife and Advanced Practice Clinician at the St. Johnsbury and Newport health centers. “It’s great to be able to offer expanded local health care in an open and accessible way for the St. Johnsbury area. We look forward to assisting patients with all of their sexual health care needs.”

The St. Johnsbury Planned Parenthood health center will be open Monday through Friday, 10AM to 5PM. Patients can call 1-866-476-1321 or visit www.ppnne.org to make an appointment.
