Planned Parenthood of Northern New England announced today it has made the difficult decision to close its Springfield Health Center on December 18th
Springfield (VT) - Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) announced today it has made the difficult decision to close its Springfield Health Center on December 18th. Like many non-profits, PPNNE has been challenged by escalating costs and the state of the economy. PPNNE was forced to cut costs in a manner that would minimize patient impact.
“We are fortunate to have two health centers that are close by and able to provide services to our Springfield patients. The Claremont, New Hampshire, and Brattleboro, Vermont, locations are available to meet our patient’s health care needs starting immediately,” said Roxanne Karter, PPNNE’s Regional Director of the Springfield Health Center. “Our Springfield patients will even be able to see the same experienced PPNNE staff at our Claremont Health Center.”
PPNNE is committed to its mission and serves over 54,000 women and families each year. This decision will help focus resources more efficiently and allow the organization to continue to provide critical health care throughout northern New England. PPNNE will make every effort to assure the transition goes as smoothly as possible for our valued patients.
PPNNE will continue to provide community outreach and public policy activities in the Springfield area.
