Sexual Health Education

Our expertly trained health educators offer age-appropriate, medically accurate presentations to youth, adults, parents/guardians, and professionals. Our presentations and materials for youth are compliant with the California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA). We provide education presentations on a variety of topics that are tailored for each audience. Peer Education

Spare Change is Planned Parenthood Northern California’s teen theatre and peer education group in Humboldt County. For more than 25 years, Spare Change has been supplementing existing school sex education programs. All peer educators complete around 40 hours of training on sexuality, birth control, sexually transmitted diseases, abstinence, communication skills, relationships, bullying, body image, abusive relationships, respect for sexual diversity (LGBTQ+) and more. Members write, produce, and perform skits and present lessons for middle and high school audiences, and provide peer support as needed.

Outreach

Health educators from Planned Parenthood Northern California share information, materials, and other resources at community events and health fairs.
