Planned Parenthood acknowledges that all aspects of sexual and reproductive health care are vital to the health and wellbeing of people and their community.

To help minimize potential exposure of patients and staff to COVID-19, we may be able to schedule your visit through telehealth. This means that, instead of coming to our health centers for your visit, our providers will reach you at or near the time of your scheduled appointment.

COMMON TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENTS

  • Birth control consult and renewals
  • GAHT services
  • Vasectomy counseling's
  • Pregnancy counseling and options
  • STI screenings (may require an in-person visit)

SCHEDULE A TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT

Book online, or call us at 1.800.230.PLAN (7526) to make an appointment.

Please be sure to have your insurance information and valid identification at the time of your appointment.

Please note, during COVID-19 that copays are not needed. If you do not have insurance, our staff will work with you to figure out payment using a sliding-fee scale.

CONNECT TO A TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT

Once you have scheduled an appointment, PPNCNY will contact you via telephone 15 minutes before your scheduled start time and will provide you with a link to access your telehealth appointment. You can access this link using your smart phone or a computer. No app is needed!

Telehealth appointments work on mobile devices (via web browser) and desktops using the following browsers: Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. Once you are connected, be sure to allow microphone and video access.

You will be placed in a Virtual Waiting Room and staff will help check you in for your visit. They will do your intake, take your insurance to pay for your visit, and prepare you for the appointment.

After check-in, you will return to the Virtual Waiting Room while you wait for the provider. This can take from 2 to 10 minutes.

Please note: If you miss your appointment, you will need to call for a new appointment. The link expires after 15 minutes. PPNCNY will email, text, and call you before your slot is removed.

If the call disconnects, we will call you back.

If you experience connection or technical issues, check out the Telehealth Tips & Troubleshooting Guide -- available in English and Spanish.

PLAN FOR A TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT

As you ready for your appointment, think about your answers to these questions:

•    What prompted this appointment today?

•    What symptoms do you have? How long have they been going on, and how have they developed and changed over time?

•    What do you need?

Your appointment will be conducted securely via video chat, similar to FaceTime or Skype. You should be in a well-lit, private, and quiet location with good internet connectivity during the appointment.

Charge or plug in your phone or computer. If possible, use headphones to help you hear and communicate with the provider. Get some paper and a pen for taking notes. Be sure to stay on the line until the call is completed. While appointments typically last about 15 minutes, find a place you can setup for 30 minutes or so.

Sit in one spot, and plan to stay put for the duration of your appointment. We will not participate in telehealth visits if you are operating a vehicle.
