You are welcome at Planned Parenthood, no matter what.

Health care for trans and non-binary folks isn’t just hormone therapy. It’s everything you need to live your most authentic life. Planned Parenthood health centers treat trans and non-binary patients every day. We’re committed to your care, and continuing to do the work necessary to provide the resources, support, and compassionate care you need. We’re here for you — no matter what.

Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy

PPNCNY offers quality, compassionate gender affirming hormone therapy to our transgender and gender nonconforming patients using an Informed Consent Model.

It’s important that everyone — cisgender and transgender — work together to create communities that are welcoming to trans and gender nonconforming people. Everyone deserves to live in a world free of violence and discrimination, including those whose gender identity and expression doesn’t match their assigned sex. Everyone can play a part in supporting transgender people and making communities safer and more inclusive.

How do I book an appointment?

Call 1-800-230-PLAN to schedule an appointment for an Initial Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy visit. At this appointment, we will review your medical history, review the Informed Consent form, and draw lab tests. Depending on your medical history, we will either prescribe the hormones to you at your first visit or wait to prescribe the hormones until we get your lab results back.

How much does it cost?

We have staff ready to help you figure out costs and payments for this service for both insured and uninsured patients. Please call 1-800-230-PLAN to discuss payment and cost options.

If I am already on hormones can I transfer my care to PPNCNY?

Yes, you are able to transfer your hormone care to PPNCNY! You will still have to make an appointment for an Initial Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy visit so that we can go through our Informed Consent form with you. Also, please make sure to bring information about your current prescription and dosage to the Initial visit.

How old do I have to be to receive this service at PPNCNY?

For our gender affirming care, we see patients 18 and over. If you are under 18, we can refer you to other providers who can give you hormonal care.
