Ready or Hot:

Your Body is Your Own

Ready or Hot is a radically inclusive, body positive event that celebrates bold self-expression, positive change, and the vital work of Planned Parenthood. Every year at Ready or Hot, we proudly proclaim that our bodies are our own—and recommit ourselves to the work of making sure those words are honored.

READY OR HOT WILL RETURN IN 2022

We’ve got big things in the works for Ready or Hot 2022. In the meantime, we hope you’ll enjoy these highlights of folks we’ve previously featured at Ready or Hot. Each story stands as a reminder of the beauty and power of this community.

Support essential health care by making a gift today to Planned Parenthood now

While we’re taking a pause on in-person events, the mission of Planned Parenthood continues—and our patients need us now more than ever.

Utica Queen's story and performance at last year's Ready or Hot filled us with a sense of strength, tenacity, and energy. Now, she's competing on VH1's RuPaul's Drag Race. We're excited to reciprocate the fierce way she supports Planned Parenthood by cheering her on this season.

Your Body is Your Own

Your Body is Your Own

Our bodies are our own. That means the power to make decisions about our own bodies. That means standing up for trans rights. That means standing with survivors. That means living as our true selves and never apologizing for that.

Some of Our Previous Ready or Hot Models

Nasri

“I control what I wear, and it makes me feel confident. The opinions of others have no true impact on my day, or my life. I am the driver of my own body, and nobody can take that liberation away from me.”

Nasri is a student and Planned Parenthood activist who uses her voice to stand up for reproductive rights and bust harmful stereotypes about Muslim women.

Dylan

“My body became my own when I started testosterone. Every hair, muscle, and surgery scar is the result of a decision made from a space of bodily autonomy. My body is my own because I fought for it to exist.” –Dylan

The Director of Health Services Programs and Innovation at Planned Parenthood North Central States, and a passionate trans health activist, Dylan was instrumental in helping PPNCS launch our transgender care program, including gender affirming hormone therapy.

Le and Ray

“My body is my own — It doesn’t belong to anyone else.”

Married for 70 years and Planned Parenthood volunteers for 14, Le and Ray are quintessential Planned Parenthood champions. Year-round, they volunteer as patient escorts, standing outside no matter the weather and ensuring that our patients feel welcome and safe in our care.

World-famous music venue First Ave. stands boldly and unapologetically with Planned Parenthood. In October 2019, when then-President Trump came to speak in Minneapolis, First Ave. chose to act in protest and solidarity with Planned Parenthood, donating 100% of their profits that day to Planned Parenthood North Central States.
