Medication Abortion ASAP looked at an easier way to give medication abortion (abortion with pills) online. 

Tear Gas and Reproductive Health Study 

This study looked at how “tear gas”, a weapon used by police against protestors, impacts the reproductive health of people with uteri. 

TelAbortion Study

This study aimed to make it easier and more convenient to get abortion pills through mail instead of having to go to a Planned Parenthood health center for an in-person appointment.

Trans Health Research

The goal of this study was to hear from transgender, genderqueer, gender nonbinary, and gender nonconforming people about what they think good health care for reproductive and gender needs should be like. 

Trust and Respect in Birth Control Experiences

Planned Parenthood and the University of Minnesota are working together to understand how birth control is experienced by people of color. They also want to know about trust and respect between people of color and clinics like Planned Parenthood.

Vasectomy Experiences and Attitudes Toward New Methods of Birth Control

Planned Parenthood North Central States and University of Minnesota—Twin Cities are teaming up to learn more about experiences with vasectomy and thoughts on different birth control options. 

Medication Abortion Extension Study 

Studying how well using mifepristone and two doses of misoprostol works for abortion when someone is 11 to 12 weeks pregnant. 

Levonorgestrel IUD as Emergency Contraception 

This study looked at using the Mirena IUD for people regardless of unprotected intercourse (sex without birth control) and as emergency contraception.  

VeraCept IUD Study 

Testing efficacy and side effects of a new non-hormonal IUD called VeraCept 

We are not looking for new participants for this study. 

Nexplanon Extension Study 

Study with people who have had Nexplanon for 4 or 5 years to see if it keeps them from getting pregnant, how their bleeding is, and if they have any other problems.

Mayo Mail-In STI Testing

This study compared swabs that people collected from themselves to swabs that clinicians collected to see how well a mail-in STI testing service would work. 

Minimal Contact Medication Abortion Study 

Patients who did not get an ultrasound before their medication abortion were surveyed to see how it affected them and how well the process worked.

Sample Collection Studies

We are recruiting for different studies at our Minneapolis health center that use urine or vaginal swab samples to test new methods of  detecting bacteria and viruses.
