Planned Parenthood of New York City’s Training Institute Now Provides Continuing Education Credits for Social Workers
NEW YORK — Social workers can now earn continuing education credits from Planned Parenthood of New York City's Training Institute, which provides numerous courses on sexual and reproductive health for professionals each year. The New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work recently selected PPNYC’s Training Institute as an approved provider of continuing education for Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSWs) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) in New York State. The Training Institute also offers continuing education credits for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES).
“The PPNYC Training Institute has provided high-quality trainings on sexual and reproductive health topics to professionals, including social workers, for years,” stated Joan Malin, President and CEO of PPNYC. “We are thrilled that the New York State Education Department has recognized PPNYC’s expert trainings for which licensed social workers can now earn continuing education credits and enhance their careers.”
The Training Institute offers a wide variety of training opportunities for social workers, educators, health care providers, case managers, youth workers and others who want to improve their ability to share healthy sexuality messages and resources with clients. The trainings include programs from birth control to consent to healthy sexuality.
