Planned Parenthood of New York City’s Generation Action network connects students from campuses throughout the city so they can work together to create change on reproductive justice issues that impact them. PPNYC provides members of Generation Action with resources for school-specific campaigns – from speakers and facilitators to free consulting on events and outreach to tabling materials. PPNYC connects members to city-wide and state-wide campaigns.
PPNYC’s Generation Action strives to center the voices of students and young people in conversations about issues that directly affect them. We work to help young people develop the skills they need to be movement leaders for reproductive health, rights, and justice. We are building power on New York City’s college campuses!
- Help students and young people develop the skills to organize around reproductive health, rights, and justice on their campuses and local communities.
- Build collective youth power through cross-campus initiatives and provide support for campus-specific campaigns.
- Use a multi-issue approach to advocate for social justice.
How to Get Involved:
PPNYC hosts semi-annual trainings for college students and young people. New members can join us for a full day of skills-based trainings, orientation to PPNYC’s services and mission, and an overview of the national, state, and local political landscape. Returning activists can join us for half of the day to learn more and meet new activists!
We also host monthly Google hangouts. This is a chance to build skills and learn about specific campaigns and ways to bring PPNYC to your campus. It is also a chance to connect with activists around the city, plan cross-campus actions, and share what’s happening on your campus – we’ll brainstorm solutions, share tips and best practices, and learn from each other!
