Bellingham, WA – Do teenagers have rights to comprehensive sexual education, or should information be restricted until adulthood?
ACLU Washington’s Whatcom County Chapter and Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood host a program on current sex education policy and programs in our schools locally and nationwide.
The program will feature the 15-minute documentary, “Teens and Sex in Europe: A Story of Rights, Respect and Responsibility” which examines current sex education policies in France, Germany and the Netherlands and compares teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection rates between those countries and the US.
Speakers Linda McCarthy, Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood CEO, Tracy Dahlstedt, Education Director, Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood and Hannah Stone, Whatcom ACLU Steering Committee Member will discuss issues of policy, rights and responsibilities of educators and young adults regarding comprehensive sex education.
