Physician assistants, nurse practitioners and registered nurses licensed in the state of Montana will be trained by Montana SANE Nurses to collect more timely and accurate forensic evidence for use in prosecuting suspected rapists. Registration now open. Deadline for registration is Friday, April 29, 2016

Since 1998, Planned Parenthood of Montana (PPMT) has provided Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training (SANE) to 383 registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and physicians from 36 of the 56 counties and 5 of the 7 American Indian Reservations in Montana. Our goal is to have a SANE trained medical professional in each county and on or near every reservation in Montana.

On an evaluation for the 2014 SANE training a nurse participant wrote, “Thank you for opening the door to this whole new side of nursing- I’m excited to get back and hit the ground running!! LOVED THIS TRAINING, every day of it!” Another nurse wrote, “I wish I had taken this training years ago. This would be beneficial for any emergency medical provider or any persons working with sexual assault victims.”

This year's training:

May 23-27, 2016
Great Falls, Montana
