PPMH Celebrates 80th Anniversary
In 1935, when families were struggling in the depths of the Great Depression, a small group of committed people established the Schenectady County Birth Control League.
With one volunteer nurse and merely $500 in contributions they provided affordable birth control to married women in Schenectady. This was the humble beginning of Planned Parenthood Mohawk Hudson.
Transforming lives in your community
Birth control has enabled women to achieve educational, employment and personal goals that were unthinkable just a generation or two ago. We’re proud of our legacy of providing health services that have transformed women’s lives.
No other organization does what Planned Parenthood does
Today, thousands of women, men and youth in your community rely on Planned Parenthood for affordable, confidential cancer screening, birth control, STI testing and more.
