St. Paul, MN – Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (PPMNS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Gilchrist to the role of Executive Vice President for External Affairs.  In that role she’ll be leading the policy, communications, marketing and education/outreach work of Planned Parenthood.

Prior to joining Planned Parenthood, Gilchrist served as the Senior Health Policy Advisor to Governor Mark Dayton, leading the administration’s health and human services agenda.  She also served on the board of Minnesota’s health care exchange, MNsure. Prior to her work in the Dayton Administration, she served as a health policy aide to US Senator Al Franken and to the late US Senator Ted Kennedy during the drafting and passage of the Affordable Care Act.  Gilchrist holds a Masters of Public Health Degree from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, where she now serves as an adjunct faculty member.  Throughout her career, she has been strong advocate for women’s health, health equity and the work of Planned Parenthood.
