Today, on the 45th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the company Wildfang launched a fundraising campaign to raise funds for the Sioux Falls Planned Parenthood clinic – the only provider of abortion in South Dakota. The following is a statement from Sarah Stoesz, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota.
“We are incredibly grateful that Wildfang is harnessing their reach and following to raise funds for the South Dakota Planned Parenthood location in Sioux Falls. It is because of the generous supporters in South Dakota – and supporters nationwide like Wildfang – that Planned Parenthood is able to serve the needs of South Dakota women.”
In states like South Dakota, where there is only one remaining provider of abortion, and where legislators have worked tirelessly to make it as difficult as possible to access abortion, many women can’t get the care they need. That is the point of Wildfang’s campaign – to help ensure women across the country have access to safe, legal abortion.”
“Because of the generosity of our supporters, Planned Parenthood will be here for the people in South Dakota who need us. Not only will we continue to serve our patients, we will also fight the efforts by lawmakers in South Dakota to place medically unnecessary, burdensome restrictions on access to abortion.”
